Don't couple up without protection

Nom nom, tasty union.

Tonight, after my first half semester off since I started this Masters thing, I return to class. It is sad, because I'm missing Fordham TKD classes, and all the tasty people there. But I'm glad to be moving again, and I'm really excited to start CyberSecurity classes in the fall (I need to remember to get the schedule ASAP, so I can sign up for the online courses).

My mom is much improved. She's expecting to get out on Wednesday, if everything continues going this well. The swelling is down, and her color's coming back, but her foot still hurts. For a while there, things were looking a bit dire.

I'm trying to get back into my routine, sleepy alarm included. As it stands, I'm like the overeager kid at a sleepover: I always want to talk, even when it's way past lights-out. Speaking of, I'm thinking of getting a clapper and a small lamp for my room. I think it would be nice to have a little light that didn't come from the overhead.

Total internal reflection

Well, actually, I don't think it actually is Total Internal Reflection because we can actually see the weird effect of seeing the inside edge of Carrie's glasses repeated. This was taken at the Sciffie gathering on the 4th.

Today my mom goes home from the hospital! Apparently the infection is largely beat, just some swelling and pain remains. So now it's time to stay the course and finish up the antibiotics (that's a pretty word to spell on the phone: 26842468427).

Unfortunately, I need to re-do week 3 day 1 because I couldn't complete it today. If I fail again Friday, I think I'll repeat week 2 at the next highest level before trying 3 again. I knew it would be a problem because my exhaustion test yesterday got me to the lowest qualifying score on the lowest level for this week. What can I say, I have no upper body strength to speak of. But that's the whole point of this exercise, right?

Edit: I have made the photo friends-only at Carrie's request. If you are my friend here on LJ, this will not affect your viewing. If you are not, you will get a broken image. Sorry.

Rapid post

The last two posts I screwed up while writing them. The first should have posted yesterday, and the second this morning. Most notably, they are both out of date regarding my mom, who is home and recovering well. Thanks for your concern.

So I guess I'll post another photo anyways. This car parks regularly in the school parking lot near my work, but I think is more related to the lumber yard across the street. Wouldn't you agree?
